In a tragic incident during the Chandan Yatra festival in Puri, Odisha, three people lost their lives and more than 25 others were injured when firecrackers exploded during a firecracker show at Narendra Tank. The victims were rushed to different hospitals in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar for treatment. Among the injured was Rishikesh Karmakar, a tenth-grade student, who unfortunately passed away while undergoing treatment at SCB Medical. The authorities, including the fire department, police, and ODRAF team, are conducting search operations at Narendra Tank to ensure no one has drowned during the mishap. Puri SP Pinak Misra has initiated an investigation by lodging an FIR. Odisha CM Naveen Pattnaik expressed his regret over the incident and visited the hospital where the injured are being treated.
