Odia girl becomes Young Jury in International Film Festival

Bhubaneswar: Prijal Ray is a ten years old Odia girl living in Delhi with her parents. She was selected for the Young Jury panel during Smile International Film Festival for Children & Youth (SIFFCY) in New Delhi. More than 150 films from 40 countries had participated in the film festival.

Prijal, along with other young jury, was responsible for reviewing and judging films from Columbia, Germany, India, Iran, the United Kingdom, Qatar and Ukraine. Based on her recommendation, awards were decided at the end of the film festival.

Prijal’s grandfather, Shri PrafullaSamal lives in Jajpur in Odisha. He says that his granddaughter has made the whole region proud with her talent and achievement.

She is a class 5th student in GyanBharati School in Saket, New Delhi. Her father Paratp Ray is a finance professional and her mother Pratikshya Ray is a social worker.

Prijal is a bright student with 100 per cent attendance. She is also popular among her friends as a happy and helpful person.

Beyond study, Prinjalis a High Red Belt in junior Taekwondo. She dreams to pursue her career in the creative world, especially in the area of cinema.
